Severe Convection: (Supercells)
Severe Convection: ((MCS) Mesoscale Convection Systems)
Severe convection forms only when key ingredients come together in a thermodynamic environment. Instability, moisture, a lifting mechanism, and adequate wind shear are all need for severe convection...
Warm-air rises since cold-air is more dense. Assuming we have a convective environment in place convection will form when convergence along a boundary (i.e fronts etc.) exists. This allows the warm-moist air to be lifted allowing the development of thunderstorms which may become severe.
